Acceptable use policy
Last updated 2026-10-29
Short links are only useful if people can trust them. This policy is part of our terms of service and applies to every link, domain and account on Linkmintly.
Not allowed
- Phishing, credential harvesting, fake login or payment pages, and impersonation of banks, government bodies, delivery companies or any other brand or person.
- Malware, unwanted software, drive-by downloads, cryptojacking.
- Scams and fraud: fake giveaways, investment or job scams, counterfeit goods, fake shops.
- Content that is illegal where it is offered, including child sexual abuse material, which we report to the authorities.
- Spam: sending links in unsolicited bulk messages, comments or SMS.
- Hiding where a link goes: chaining through other shorteners or redirectors, or changing a destination to something harmful after a link has been shared or reviewed.
- Harassment, hate or violent extremism, and doxxing.
- Using custom domains you do not own or are not authorized to use.
- Trying to get around our limits, blocklists or suspensions, for example with new accounts.
Destinations we refuse automatically
- Anything that is not an absolute
httporhttpsURL, and URLs with a user name or password in them. - Bare IP addresses, private and local networks.
- Other URL shorteners, our own domains and connected link domains.
- Hosts on our abuse blocklist, including their subdomains.
Links in Google Ads
Links used in ads must also follow Google Ads policies, including the requirements for tracking templates and the rule that your final URL and display URL match. Our tracking redirect never changes where an ad leads. Short links must not be used as ad URLs in Google Ads; use the tracking template on go.linkmintly.click.
Enforcement
We review reports and automated signals. Depending on the case we disable a single link, block a destination host for every account, disable a custom domain, or suspend an account. Disabled links answer 403 with an explanation page; they are never redirected to another page. Where it is safe to do so, we tell the account holder why and how to appeal. Clear abuse, such as phishing, is removed without notice.
Use the "Report this link" link on any preview page (add + to the short link), or email abuse@linkmintly.click with the link and why you think it is harmful. We aim to act on phishing and malware reports within one business day.
